Sophie Cunningham posts an update on the knee injury that ended her season: Rehab is going to kill me…

Sophie Cunningham is facing the challenges of recovery after a season-ending MCL injury as despite the setback, the Indiana Fever star maintains a positive outlook, sharing her experiences with fans on social media.

The guard suffered the injury during an August 17 game against the Connecticut Sun. Following surgery, she has been undergoing rehabilitation in a bid to recover fitness for the 2026 WNBA season.

Humorously described as “rehab will be the death of me” in a recent Instagram story, showing off her trademark ability to make any serious situation light-hearted.

In the post, she is seen on a rehab table, wearing a gray sweatshirt, expressing her desire to be with her teammates instead of in rehab and her injury is part of a series of setbacks for the Fever this season

Teammates Caitlin Clark and Sydney Colson are also sidelined due to injuries, leaving the team with a depleted roster, yet despite these challenges, Cunningham continues to support her team, attending games and sharing her journey with fans.

Through her social media updates, she provides a glimpse into her recovery process, balancing the rigors of rehab with moments of lightheartedness, something the team desperately needs through the WNBA Playoffs.

That’s because the Fever are in a tense situation after securing a crucial 77-60 victory over the Atlanta Dream in Game 2 of their first-round WNBA playoff series, tying the series 1-1 and forcing a decisive Game 3.

Kelsey Mitchell led the charge with 19 points, while Aliyah Boston added 15 and Natasha Howard contributed 12, as the Fever’s defense limited Atlanta to just 37.9% from the field and 26.3% from three-point range.
