The Parramatta Eels have reportedly made a bold move in the transfer market, offering rising forward Finau Latu a deal worth $1.2 million over three years, starting in 2026.
According to sources close to the negotiations, the Eels are eager to secure the 19-year-old’s services early, viewing him as a key part of their long-term rebuild.
> “The club sees Latu as one of the most promising young forwards in the game,” a source told NRL Central. “They’re not just making an offer — they’re making a statement.”
Latu, currently contracted with a rival NRL club, has drawn widespread attention for his size, work rate, and maturity beyond his years. While no deal has been finalised, insiders say the Eels’ offer is “well above market value” and could be enough to tip the scales.
Parramatta is believed to be aggressively reshaping its roster following the confirmed departure of star five-eighth Dylan Brown at the end of 2025.
The club has not made any official comment, but speculation is building that Latu could be the Eels’ next big signing.
