The Miami Dolphins are bringing back a familiar face. Offensive tackle Kendall Lamm, who the Philadelphia Eagles released as part of their final roster cuts on Tuesday, will be returning to Miami, where he spent the past three seasons.
Lamm signed a one-year contract with the Eagles during the offseason. Dolphins general manager Chris Grier reported the signing during a Wednesday morning media availability.
Lamm entered the league as an undrafted free agent, signing with the Houston Texans in 2015. He moved over to the Cleveland Browns in 2019, then joined the Tennessee Titans in 2021. After a preseason stint with the Detroit Lions in 2022, he signed with Miami during that season. During his 10-year career, Lamm has appeared in 119 games, starting 44 of them. He likely joins Miami as their primary swing tackle, able to serve as the game-day backup for starting left tackle Patrick Paul and starting right tackle Austin Jackson.
The Dolphins will move cornerback Cam Smith to the non-football injury list with an undisclosed issue. Smith made the 53-man roster on Tuesday during the team’s final cuts, but now will be sidelined. The non-football injury list is typically reserved for players who are injured outside of practice or game activities and sidelines the player for at least four weeks.
