The Parramatta Eels have reportedly made a major breakthrough in the player market, with sources indicating that teenage sensation Lachlan Galvin is on the verge of signing with the club for the 2026 NRL season.
Galvin, 19, has been one of the most talked-about young players in the NRL, currently contracted to the Wests Tigers. Known for his calm playmaking ability and natural leadership, Galvin is seen as a future Origin-calibre talent and a long-term solution in the halves.
According to reports, the Eels have held advanced talks with Galvin’s management and are confident of finalising a deal in the coming weeks. While no official announcement has been made, club insiders say the agreement is “very close” to being completed.
> “Lachlan is a special talent – smart, tough, and with the ability to control a game beyond his years,” one source close to the negotiations said. “Parramatta have been aggressive in pursuing him, and it’s paying off.”
If confirmed, the signing would be a major statement from new head coach Jason Ryles, who is looking to reshape the club’s future after a challenging 2025 campaign.
What it means:
Galvin is expected to be groomed as the long-term halves partner to Mitchell Moses, adding depth, youth, and spark to Parramatta’s spine. His arrival could also trigger further movement in the club’s roster as they build toward a genuine premiership window.
