In an unprecedented move, the NRL has announced that all future Grand Finals will now be played at CommBank Stadium – the home of the Parramatta Eels – following their jaw-dropping 50-0 demolition of rivals in the semi-final.
Fans were left in disbelief as the Eels delivered one of the most dominant performances in recent memory, with Mitchell Moses and Clint Gutherson putting on a clinic in front of a sold-out home crowd. The energy inside CommBank was so electric, league officials joked that “the stadium itself deserves a Clive Churchill Medal.”
NRL Chairman Peter V’landys said, “We’re not saying the Eels are unbeatable at CommBank… but we’re not saying they’re not, either. For the sake of entertainment, this is now the Eels’ world — we’re just playing in it.”
Opposition clubs have reportedly filed complaints, with one unnamed coach saying, “It’s not even fair anymore. It’s like trying to beat 17 players and 30,000 screaming fans with blue and gold blood.”
Eels fans are already planning for a “home Grand Final dynasty,” with supporters flooding local stores for premiership merch – just in case.
