The news comes on top of confirmation that Cory Paix has picked up an elbow strain. Although named in the extended squad to face the Gold Coast Titans this weekend, he is considered unlikely to take the field.
Mozer’s setback is a major hit to Brisbane’s dummy-half stocks. According to News Corp, while the club is confident the injury won’t end his season, he is expected to be out for at least six weeks.
His absence coincides with the return of Ben Hunt, who has been named to start at hooker, while Billy Walters shifts to the bench. At full strength, the Broncos are tipped to weigh up Paix and Walters for the utility bench role as they push towards finals.
Jensen, meanwhile, was a late scratching last weekend with what was initially thought to be a calf strain. However, the NRL Physio has since revealed the forward is suffering from deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in his calf. He is expected to be treated with blood thinners, which will rule him out of contact training and travel.
The 30-year-old is set to miss at least four to six weeks, though his exact return date remains unclear. Now in his fourth season at Red Hill, Jensen has been a consistent figure in Brisbane’s forward rotation and his absence leaves another hole in Kevin Walters’ pack.
