The Broncos have signed young playmaker, Tom Duffy, on a one-year contract for the 2026 season.
The 22-year-old Townsville product was an Australian Schoolboys representative in 2021 and has played 50 Queensland Cup games for the Townsville Blackhawks and Northern Pride.
He was named Queensland Cup halfback of the year in 2024, with five tries, 33 try assists and 216 points.
Duffy’s standout performances earned him an NRL debut for the Cowboys in Round 1 this year, and he has since gone on to play six games for the North Queensland side.
Duffy said he’s excited to make the move to Brisbane.
“It’s pretty appealing to me having Reynolds and Hunt, two 300 game halfbacks there,” he said.

He said he wants to be a part of the “special” culture that Coach Michael Maguire has been building.
“The work ethic you have to have to succeed down there is high, and I want to strive for that,” Duffy said.
“I want to try and earn the respect of the boys and coaching staff and put my best foot forward.
“I want to keep developing as a halfback, I think I’ve got a long way to go to reach my ceiling yet.”
General Manager of Football, Troy Thomson, said he’s looking forward to working with Duffy.
“Tom’s a great young talent and he’s consistently shown that over the years as he’s progressed through the ranks,” Thomson said.
“It’s the perfect time for him to come down to the Broncos and learn off Reyno (Adam Reynolds) and Hunty (Ben Hunt) who will help shape his career.
