The Penrith Panthers have secured the signature of rising outside back Thomas Goodfield from the Wests Tigers’ pathways system, further strengthening their long-term plans to remain a premiership force.
Goodfield, currently a student at St Gregory’s College, has spent the past two seasons with the Western Suburbs Magpies in the Under-17s Harold Matthews Cup. He will link up with Penrith from 2026, stepping into the Under-19s SG Ball Cup squad.
Able to play both wing and centre, Goodfield quickly established himself as one of the Tigers’ brightest young prospects after joining the club in 2024. His strong performances also earned him selection in the Under-16s NSW City side last year.
A Camden Rams junior, Goodfield is eager to build on his development and keep climbing the rugby league ladder.
Speaking to Zero Tackle earlier this year, he said:
“My dad, who was a die-hard Parra fan, got me into playing footy, and it’d be unreal for my family if I could make it to the NRL one day. I’ve played this sport all the way up through the grades, but it would mean the world to actually make it. That’s the dream.”
