BREAKING: Mitchell Moses Tipped to Finish Career at Parramatta Eels Amid New Contract Talks

In a major development for Eels fans, star halfback and club captain Mitchell Moses is reportedly in advanced talks to extend his stay at Parramatta — a move that could see him finish his NRL career in blue and gold.

Sources close to the club have confirmed that negotiations are underway for a career-finishing extension, with Moses already contracted until the end of 2027. The Eels are believed to be preparing a two-year top-up deal, which would keep the 30-year-old at the club until 2029, making him one of the longest-serving players in Parramatta history.

> “There’s a real sense that Mitch wants to build something lasting here,” one club insider revealed. “He’s not just a playmaker anymore — he’s the heart of this team.”

The Eels’ Franchise Player

Moses has been in red-hot form in 2025, steering the Eels to a mid-season resurgence and drawing praise from league legends. NRL great Cooper Cronk recently credited Moses with being worth “15 to 16 points” to Parramatta when on the field.

His leadership and consistency have become pillars of the Eels’ long-term plans, particularly as the club enters a transition period following the departure of former skipper Clint Gutherson and with rising talents like Isaiah Iongi, Zac Lomax, and Josh Addo‑Carr now forming the core of a new-look backline.

Loyalty Over the Market

Despite interest from rival clubs earlier this year, Moses has repeatedly reiterated his desire to remain loyal to the club that reignited his career.

> “I’ve always said I want to win a premiership here,” Moses told reporters earlier this season. “This club means a lot to me. We’ve got unfinished business.”

If the extension is finalized, Moses could become just the third halfback in NRL history to play over 300 games for a single club, joining elite company.

A Defining Move for the Club

The retention of Moses would be a huge coup for the Eels, particularly as they look to secure long-term combinations across the spine. With Dylan Brown set to depart at the end of 2025 and new signings like Tallyn Da Silva and Joash Papalii developing fast, Moses’ experience will be critical in leading the next generation.

An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
