The NRL has received a major boost with the announcement that the Queensland Maroons will officially join a new high-performance program designed to enhance elite player development and preparation.
The initiative will provide Queensland’s State of Origin squads with access to advanced training, recovery, and sports science support throughout the year. It’s seen as a step forward in strengthening the Maroons’ long-term success and competitiveness on the Origin stage.
Queensland Rugby League officials say the move will help create stronger pathways from junior levels right through to the elite representative arena.
The high-performance program is set to begin ahead of the next Origin series, with more details to be released soon.
