The Brisbane Broncos have officially secured the future of one of their most promising young talents, re-signing hooker Blake Mozer on a two-year extension reportedly worth $650,000.
The new deal will keep the 20-year-old at Red Hill through the end of the 2027 NRL season, solidifying Brisbane’s spine depth as veteran rake Billy Walters nears the final stages of his career.
Mozer, a Souths Logan Magpies junior, has been viewed as a long-term No. 9 for the Broncos and has impressed in both Queensland Cup and limited NRL appearances. Despite interest from rival clubs, Brisbane moved quickly to lock in the highly-rated prospect.
Broncos Head Coach Kevin Walters praised the young hooker’s work ethic and potential: “Blake’s a kid with a huge future. He’s tough, smart, and has all the tools to be a top-level hooker in the NRL.”
The $650,000 contract is believed to be back-ended, reflecting the club’s belief in Mozer’s growth over the next two seasons.
This move comes amid Brisbane’s broader strategy to retain their homegrown core, with Mozer joining the likes of Reece Walsh and Brendan Piakura in committing to the club long term.
