Fox League cameras captured the “special” moment Parramatta Eels winger Zac Lomax consoled a budding rugby league players ahead of Saturday afternoon’s NRL game in Canberra.
Local junior teams were playing a match on the field during half-time of the NRLW clash between the Canberra Raiders and Eels at GIO Stadium when emotions got the better of one of the kids.
Lomax, who was warming up nearby, walked up to the youngster and put an arm around him, offering some words of solace. The young lad wiped away tears before rejoining his mates.

“What about this moment we saw at half-time,” Fox League commentator Ben Homer said.
“One of the kids from one of the local teams just having a bit of a rough time on the field.
“Lomax comes over and gives him a little bit of a helping hand, a pep talk.
“That’s a special, wholesome moment.”
Lomax later scored a try and kicked two conversions as the Eels suffered a 16-40 loss to Raiders.
