The Parramatta Eels have stunned the NRL world by signing Canterbury Bulldogs star Stephen Crichton on a four-year deal worth a staggering $3.6 million AUD.
The blockbuster transfer—finalized late Wednesday night—will see Crichton don the blue and gold through the end of the 2029 season, with an average annual salary of $900,000. The move is seen as a major statement of intent from the Eels’ new regime under coach Jason Ryles, aiming to rebuild around a dynamic spine and elite outside backs.
Crichton, 24, brings grand final experience, Origin pedigree, and elite defensive leadership to Parramatta’s backline.
In return, Canterbury will receive cap relief and a package of draft considerations and conditional player swaps, details of which are still emerging.
