Middlesbrough are preparing for a pivotal 2025/26 season following a major change in leadership. The club has parted ways with Michael Carrick and appointed Rob Edwards as the new head coach on Teesside.
After two underwhelming campaigns that ended without play-off qualification, the Boro hierarchy felt a change was necessary. Now, it’s up to Edwards to close the gap on the promotion contenders and reignite the club’s push for the Premier League.

A strong transfer window with impactful signings will be essential to turning that ambition into reality. Middlesbrough look to be trying to make that a reality, and a new name is on Boro’s radar.
According to The Mirror, Middlesbrough are looking to sign Viktoria Plzen attacking midfielder Pavel Sulc. No offer has been put in for the midfielder, who is in the final year of his contract at Plzen.
Boro face a lot of rival interest in the race to sign Sulc. Bournemouth and another Premier League side are keen, while Serie A club Lazio are one of many Italian sides interested, as well as teams in Germany and Turkey.
