Tyreek Hill has had an interesting offseason as a member of the Miami Dolphins, to put it lightly.
Whether it was his postgame comments following Miami’s loss to the New York Jets in Week 18 of the 2024 regular season where he claimed to want out of Miami, the numerous trade rumors that were swirling around the All-Pro, or the police presence at an apartment shared by him, his wife and his child two months ago, the 31-year-old receiver just can’t seem to stay out of the headlines.
On Sunday, while being interviewed at Fanatics Fest 2025 in New York City, Hill made headlines once again — this time while speaking about his current (possibly soon-to-be former) teammate, cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
“I’m going to hang out with Ramsey next week,” Hill said. “I’m going to get him back. Full court press. I’m getting Ramsey back [with] the Dolphins. I don’t care what they say.”
Hill continued, “We need Ramsey, dawg. He’s a dawg. He’s one of the best corners in the league, man. Great leader — a great teammate too, though. That’s what he doesn’t get a lot of credit for… We just need him on the Dolphins.”
While some of Hill’s comments are true — Ramsey is still a great player in the National Football League, and the Dolphins are a better defense on paper with him in the mix — there have been plenty of whispers about Ramsey’s personality clashing with that of Dolphins’ head coach, Mike McDaniel.
Miami’s head coach repeatedly declined to update the media in regards to the status of trade talks surrounding Ramsey and various other NFL franchises during his chats with the press ahead of minicamp practices recently.
Another head coach, Sean McVay of the Los Angeles Rams, has also taken multiple opportunities to tell those inquiring that the Rams are interested in making a deal with Miami to bring Ramsey back to California after trading him to South Florida just two years ago.
Currently, Ramsey’s salary is the consistent issue that’s keeping him in aqua and orange. Reportedly, teams want the Dolphins to eat a large portion of his $21 million salary this season to facilitate a deal, and Miami’s general manager, Chris Grier, is not interested in doing so — especially considering the Dolphins have already paid out a $4 million bonus to Ramsey this offseason.
Will Tyreek Hill be able to do the impossible and keep Jalen Ramsey with the Miami Dolphins for the 2025 season? My guess is it’s highly unlikely, but as is often the case with Miami’s speedster receiver, don’t count out the unpredictable
