Parramatta Eels have confirmed the signing of versatile utility player Luke Garner on a lucrative three-year deal worth $2.4 million. Garner, who has been a key part of the Penrith Panthers squad, is set to leave the club at the end of the 2025 season to join the Eels.
This strategic acquisition aims to bolster Parramatta’s squad depth and experience as they look to improve their performance in the current NRL season. Garner’s ability to play both in the centres and the back row makes him a valuable asset for coach Jason Ryles’ rebuilding efforts.
The move comes amid a challenging period for the Eels, who currently sit 16th on the NRL ladder. Garner’s arrival is expected to provide a significant boost to the team’s competitiveness and on-field leadership.
Garner expressed excitement about his new chapter with Parramatta, stating, “I’m looking forward to contributing to the Eels’ success and being part of their journey moving forward.”
The Eels’ management highlighted that securing Garner was a priority and emphasized their commitment to strengthening the squad ahead of upcoming fixtures.
Fans can expect to see Garner don the blue and gold jersey starting next season, with high hopes for his impact both on and off the field.
