With the trade-away of George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys, they need more than a body.
And no offense to Calvin Austin and Robert Woods and Roman Wilson as candidates to join Metcalf? Pittsburgh needs more talent to make the 41-year-old Rodgers look good …
And maybe Rodgers can make one particular guy look good, too.

Young stud Chris Olave of the New Orleans Saints doesn’t want to be traded … and besides, why should the lowly Saints give up arguably their best player?
A realistic answer, if there was a way to recapture his greatness – or at least, count on his consistent goodness?
He’s got critics who think he’s “done.” Cooper is on the open market after a rough go with the Cleveland Browns and the Buffalo Bills last season … and of course he was famously trade-dumped by the Dallas Cowboys before that.
His problem, as they term it in Dallas, is “shrinkage.” Amari – while being a five-time Pro Bowler – does not consistently find ways to come up big in big moments. Nor, by reputation, does he fight through adversity, including minor injuries.
Cooper is almost 31 years old. If he signed anywhere – and it’s telling that he hasn’t – it’ll be his fourth team in four years.
But if there is anything that might reboot him, it might be playing with a QB in Rodgers who is also a lightning rod, who is also seen by some as “done,” who is also too old to do this much longer …
So maybe the Steelers and Rodgers and Cooper do it just one more time … together?
