BREAKING NEWS: Red Sox Adjust Roster Ahead of Twins Series

In a move aimed at boosting their performance as they head into a pivotal series against the Minnesota Twins, the Boston Red Sox have announced key adjustments to their roster. The team is looking to rebound from a recent string of games and strengthen their chances in the AL East.

Key Changes

The Red Sox have called up outfielder Jake Meyers from Triple-A Worcester, who has been impressive at the plate with a .295 batting average and an on-base percentage of .375 this season. Meyers is expected to bring additional speed and depth to the lineup as the team prepares to face an increasingly competitive Twins squad.

In a corresponding move, the club has optioned infielder Bobby Dalbec to Worcester. Dalbec has struggled recently, hitting just .210 with limited contributions in clutch situations. Red Sox management believes that a stint in the minors will allow him to refine his skills and regain his form.

Pitching Adjustments

In addition to position player changes, the Red Sox have altered their pitching rotation for the upcoming series. Ace Chris Sale will take the mound for the series opener on Friday, with Tanner Houck following in game two. Sale, who boasts a 3.20 ERA on the season, has been a crucial element of the team’s success and is eager to set the tone against the formidable Twins lineup.

Manager Alex Cora stated, “We are confident that these adjustments will help us get back on track. Every game is crucial at this stage of the season, and we believe these players will make an immediate impact.”

Looking Ahead

The Red Sox will face the Twins at Fenway Park for a three-game series starting this Friday. Both teams are battling for playoff positioning, making this series even more significant for the Red Sox as they look to overcome recent challenges and secure a spot in the postseason.

Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team as they seek to make critical gains in the standings. Stay tuned for further updates on team performance and roster changes as the season progresses.
