The No. 18 South Carolina women’s tennis team delivered a dominant performance against No. 66 Missouri home on Friday afternoon, sweeping the Tigers 4-0. The win marked the Gamecocks’ fourth 4-0 sweep during SEC play this season.

Bella Bergkvist Larsson and Olympe Lancelot got things started for the Garnet & Black, defeating their opponents 6-4 to establish early momentum. Lauren Friedman and Misa Malkin followed up by battling back from a 1-3 deficit to earn their first victory as a pair, winning 6-4 to clinch the doubles point for South Carolina.

The Tigers attempted to make a comeback at the beginning of singles play, picking up first set wins on two courts but the Gamecocks responded with opening set victories at the remaining four positions.

Sarah Hamner extended the Gamecocks’ lead to 2-0, winning her first set 7-5 on a deuce after fighting back from a 1-4 deficit before her opponent retired in the second set. Larsson dominated her match, sweeping the first set 6-0 and taking the second 6-1 to put South Carolina within one point of clinching. Lancelot finished things off for the Gamecocks with a 6-2, 6-1 win from position No. 3, solidifying the 4-0 victory.

The Gamecocks host their final regular season home match of the season on Sun., April 6, hosting No. 13 Vanderbilt at 1:00 p.m.
